These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website operated by Saunologia Oy, and the provision of both custom sauna design consulting services and any related digital products or materials.

By accessing our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the website or services.

2. Scope of Services

Saunologia offers:

  • Tailored Finnish sauna design consultation

  • Design review and planning documentation

  • Advisory on technical sauna solutions, sauna business, and sauna facilities

  • Digital content and guides related to sauna planning

Our services may be provided via video calls, documents, and other digital means. We may also sell products or content through our online store hosted by Shopify.

3. Website Use & E-Commerce

Our website and online store are hosted by Shopify Inc. Your use of the site is subject to:

  • Compliance with applicable laws and restrictions (see Section 12)

  • Agreement not to exploit any part of the website or its content without written consent

  • Provision of accurate billing and personal information

  • Responsibility for checking for updates to the Terms

4. Project Onboarding & Customer Responsibilities

To begin a design project, the customer must:

  • Provide existing design documents and site materials (layouts, HVAC plans, etc.)

  • Attend a kickoff meeting to align on objectives

  • Communicate promptly and transparently during the process

5. Deliverables and Intellectual Property

  • Customers receive an exclusive, non-transferable right to use the deliverables for personal/private use only

  • No resale, reproduction, or distribution of designs or built saunas is permitted

  • Saunologia retains authorship and reference rights to showcase anonymized project work

  • Any commercial exploitation of the materials is a breach of contract and may result in legal action

6. Confidentiality and Data Protection

  • Both parties shall maintain confidentiality of exchanged information unless disclosure is required for service delivery

  • Saunologia stores and processes data in accordance with EU GDPR regulations

  • Customers may request deletion of personal data after project completion

  • Confidentiality survives termination, excluding the reference rights granted in Section 5

7. Liability Disclaimer

  • Saunologia provides best-effort, authentic Finnish sauna planning

  • We disclaim liability for:

    • Compliance with local building codes outside Finland

    • Injuries or damages arising from sauna use

  • Customers are responsible for ensuring local compliance through local architects or contractors

8. Jurisdiction

All disputes shall be resolved under Finnish law, in the Helsinki District Court.

9. Indemnification & Risk Acknowledgment

By accepting a service proposal, the customer:

  • Assumes all risks related to sauna construction and use

  • Waives claims against Saunologia for damages, injuries, or non-compliance

  • Agrees to indemnify Saunologia against third-party claims related to misuse or breach

10. Duration and Termination

  • Standard agreements are valid for 12 months from acceptance

  • May be terminated early by:

    • Mutual written agreement

    • Breach of terms (with 30-day cure period)

    • Insolvency or force majeure

  • Upon termination:

    • Customer pays for work delivered to date (rounded up to nearest hour)

    • Intellectual property, confidentiality, and indemnification clauses survive

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting changes to our website. Continued use of the site or our services after changes implies acceptance.

12. Prohibited Uses

You are prohibited from using the site or our services:

  • For unlawful or abusive purposes

  • To breach intellectual property or confidentiality

  • To introduce harmful software or harvest data

  • To misrepresent your identity or impersonate others

13. Optional Tools & Third-Party Links

  • We may offer tools (e.g., CAD viewers, third-party configurators) “as is” without warranties

  • Links to third-party websites are not endorsements; we are not responsible for external content or transactions

14. Errors, Omissions & Pricing

We do our best to keep our website accurate but reserve the right to correct any errors or omissions in content or pricing without prior notice.
